We recommend waiting 8 hours before your initial shower.
The entire appointment takes about 15-25 minutes, from start to finish.
The typical spray tan will last 7-10 days with proper care and upkeep. It is important to follow the steps listed below in our Tan Care section to get the best quality tan possible.
Tan Care
18 - 24 hours prior to session:
- It is important to exfoliate with a gentle, oil free body scrub. Pay special attention to dry areas like your feet, knees, and elbows.
- Shave and/or wax at least 24 hours prior to your session.
- Do not apply deodorant, perfume, body oils, lotion or moisturizer to the skin. This can create an uneven tan.
- Remove makeup, contact lenses and jewelry before your session.
- Dark undergarments are best to wear during your actual session. Disposable thongs are also available in the salon.
- Wear dark, loose fitting cotton clothing and flip flops to your appointment
- Do not wear tight fitting undergarments immediately following your session
- Avoid any activity that would cause you to sweat or get wet (hand washing, dish washing, exercise, etc.) for at least 8 hours
- If you choose to sleep in your airbrush tan, wear a long sleeve cotton shirt and long cotton bottoms
- Wait at least 8 hours before rinsing off.
- For your first rinse use:
- Lukewarm water
- No soap
- Pat dry when exiting shower
The life of your airbrush tan depends on how well you take care of you skin.
- Moisturize daily with good quality lotion (avoid any lotion with mineral oil!)
- Avoid long, hot showers, baths and harsh scrubbing
- It is also important to use a gentle, sulfate-free, non acidic body wash to avoid stripping your tan
- Moisturizing daily with a tan extender lotion can add 2-3 days to the life of your tan.
- If at all possible, you should try to avoid contact with chlorine (especially hot tubs) QUICK dips in the pool or ocean are okay.
- The following products have been shown to reduce the duration and quality of your tan: Anti-Aging, Acne products and Bar Soap.
